First Connection
This guide walks you through connecting your Biscuit Pro or Ultra to the companion app for the first time.
Step 1: Charge Your Device
Plug your Biscuit into any USB-C charger or power source. The LED will indicate charging status. A full charge takes roughly 1-2 hours depending on the battery level.
You can use the device while it’s charging, but we recommend starting with at least 30% battery.
Step 2: Install the Biscuit Manager App
Download Biscuit Manager from your device’s app store:
- iOS – Available on the App Store
- Android – Available on Google Play
Step 3: Power On
Press the power button on your Biscuit. The LED will cycle through a brief startup sequence, then settle into a breathing green pattern. This means the device is ready and waiting for a connection.
Step 4: Open the App and Grant Permissions
Launch Biscuit Manager on your phone. On first launch, the app will request two permissions:
- Bluetooth – Required to communicate with your Biscuit device
- Location – Required by iOS and Android for Bluetooth scanning to work
Bluetooth is needed to connect. Precise location is needed to Wardrive. Background location is needed so you can minimize the app and still wardrive (App can get auto closed by the phone OS so check in on occasion).
Step 5: Open the Device Panel
The app opens straight to the Dashboard. On your very first launch the device panel slides in from the right automatically and starts scanning; after that, open it any time with the connect button in the top-right of the Dashboard. On your first connection your saved-devices list is empty, so tap + Add new device to reveal nearby Biscuits – yours should appear within a few seconds.
Step 6: Tap to Connect
Tap your device. A status banner drops down from the top of the screen: Connecting…, then Connected. The panel slides away and the Biscuit’s LED changes from breathing green to breathing blue, confirming the connection is active. (If you change your mind, tap the X on the banner to cancel.)
From now on your Biscuit is remembered – the next time you open the panel it appears at the top with a Nearby badge and signal strength, so reconnecting is a single tap. If you own more than one, each is listed separately and keeps its own name (even if you rename it later). Swipe a device to forget it.
Step 7: Check the Dashboard
After connecting, the Dashboard screen will display your device’s information:
- Model – Pro or Ultra
- Firmware versions – Both the WROOM and C5 module firmware
- Battery level – Current charge percentage and charging status
Take a moment to confirm everything looks correct. If a firmware update is available, the app will notify you.
Step 8: Try Your First Scan
You’re connected and ready to go. To run your first scan:
- Navigate to WiFi Tools
- Tap Scan AP
- The device will scan across all channels and return a list of nearby access points
You should see results within a few seconds. Each entry shows the network name, signal strength, channel, security type, and more.
Tips
- Stay close – For a reliable BLE connection, keep your phone within about 10 meters of the device.
- Check Bluetooth – If the device doesn’t appear in the scan list, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Restart if needed – If the app can’t find your device, try closing and reopening the app, or power-cycling the Biscuit.
